First Fully LEED Certified Project:

The concession building at Coral Reef Park has been designated the Village’s first fully LEED Certified Project. “This exciting news is a direct result of the 'Village Greening' policy,” said Ron Williams, Village Manager. “The Village staff and its contractors would not have been able to achieve this historic accomplishment without the leadership, confidence, and commitment of the Mayor and Council. See the final score card. Steps are now being taken to secure a plaque, which will be presented in the near future. Stay tuned.
   

Mayor Flinn Among 985 Mayors to Sign Climate Protection Agreement:

Mayor Eugene Flinn is one of 985 Mayors to sign the US Council of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, a nationwide pledge to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7 percent below 1990 levels by 2012. This agreement is the only climate protection agreement of its kind among U.S. elected officials.
