Earth Week Celebration 2015
Earth Week is brimming with activities for Villagers of all ages. The 2015 celebration includes Movie Night, Tree Give-Away, poster contest, lady bug releases, and a Bike-B-Que event. (See 2014 Facebook photos.)
Parks & Rec launched its educational series March 12 at Thalatta Estate focusing on our community and the environment with a discussion on "The Coastal Palmetto Bay/Cutler Bay Habitat Restoration Project."
Since Mayor Flinn introduced paperless production of e-Currents in 2008, the Village has saved $100,000 in taxpayer dollars by eliminating the cost -- and environmental impact -- of print newsletters.
Commercial property owners in Palmetto Bay are obtaining financing to make big improvements in their properties that lower utility bills, reduce repair costs, and increase property value. Read more.

FPL Relocating Royal Palms
FPL is relocating 25 mature trees in Palmetto Bay that were planted years ago by Miami-Dade County under power lines. Removal and relocation work starts Jan. 16 along the east side of Franjo Road.
Mangrove Kayak Adventure Program
The free, monthly Mangrove Kayak Adventure program at Thalatta Estate is making such a big splash in 2015, it is "sold out" most months in advance. Please contact Parks Admin for info -- and see photos.
